`The VI Critic’ is a blog that reviews shows from both local theatre to the bright lights of London’s West End, from a visual impairment perspective! I’ve always had a passion for theatre and have always enjoyed going to shows. Then one day, someone said to me: “Hey! Why don’t you start a blog and review shows?” So I looked into it and here we are!
I have an eye condition called ‘Retinopathy of Prematurity’ or ROP. In simple terms, I was born prematurely, as a result, I was born in no vision in either of my eyes. Thanks to a very skilled surgeon, I am now able to have limited vision in my left eye but no vision in my right. I currently use a cane to help me get around but hoping to have a Guide Dog in the near future.
I am one of these critics that will give it to you straight. If I like a show I would come out and give it all the praise it deserves, however, if a show is not as good (luckily so far there haven’t been any) then I will say so. I am based in the South East area of the UK.
So far I review for the following theatres:
-
The Mercury Theatre (Colchester)
I hope you will stick around and read some of my previous reviews and thoroughly enjoy the reviews to come! If you’d like to, please follow my social media (links to which are in the sidebar) as I will post all new reviews there once they are posted. If you have any questions or suggestions then please message me or ‘tweet’ me and I will be happy to answer them!
Until Next Time,
The VI Critic!
